Doug's first love in music was the trumpet where he had the pleasure of playing in Jazz bands, pit orchestras and other community ensembles. Doug went on to attend VanderCook College of Music Education for his music teaching degree.
Doug's formal training in dance started when he stumbled upon West Coast Swing in 2001. Since then he has won numerous titles across the country, including US Open Champion. He taught many forms of dance, including ECS, Hustle, Salsa, Night Club 2, Country 2 and of course West Coast Swing. |
Ardena danced as a professional ballroom dancer in USA and later moved to Norway where she helped fuel the growth of the West Coast Swing community starting with teaching regularly and starting Winter White by bringing Stephen White.
Since 2012, Ardena has been hooked on WCS. From 2015 -2019 she partnered with Thibaut Ramirez teaching, competing, judging and performing locally and internationally. She now runs Argo Movement Studio in Ås where she integrates partner dancing, yoga and fitness all in one place building a community of movers. |
Igor comes from Brazil, where at the age of 14 won “Rayane Calixtio” a Brazilian TV Show. He went on to dance classical , contemporary, jazz and street jazz. He continued his dance career going on multiple tv shows until he discovered WCS. He now lives in France teaching both solo dances and WCS, organizing events and continuing to inspire us with his authentic dancing, both as a leader and as a follower, and equally impressive.
Laurena comes from Nantes, France. She has been dancing Classical Dance, Modern Jazz and Street Jazz, Hip Hop and K-pop since a little child. With her vast background and technique acquired from her previous experiences, she quickly became an outstanding WCS dancer dancing in the All -Star division, usually ranks in the top 5 and has an exceptional and authentic musicality. Together, they are one of the newest established WCS dance couples in Europe. Their extensive dance background has linked them together and they are about to create magic. With just a few months into their partnership, they have already put a routine together and placed 1st Place in Showcase division at French Open. |
